LORRAINE ‘LARRY’ KAUFMAN
Lorraine “Larry” Kaufman, 88, a resident of 252 Elm St., Oakfield, passed away Thursday March 30, 2000, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1911, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of the late Edward and Rose Marie Koenigs Gratzke.
On April 17, 1938, she married David Karl Kaufman.
“Larry” was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield. She was an avid softball and basketball player having played for several years in the city basketball league for Rupps City Dry Cleaners. She also enjoyed bowling and golf and was a member of many years at the Rock River Country Club and Rolling Meadows Golf Course.
Survivors include sisters-in-law, Patricia Gratzke of Valley Center, Calif., Margaret Gratzke of West Allis, Bertha Kaufman of West Allis and Orzelle Kaufman; a step-sister-in-law, Annett Homan of Oakfield; one brother-in-law, Henry Kaufman of West Allis; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, on Nov. 19, 1997; and four brothers, Walter, Arthur, Charles and Richard Gratzke.
Services: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield. The Rev. James B. Posanski will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery,
Fond du Lac.
Visitation: From 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Zacherl Funeral Home, and again on Monday at St. James Catholic Church, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials in her name may be directed to the charity of ones choice. Zacherl Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
