Margaret 'Maggie' A. Oechsner, 72 years old, of W3937 Cty. Rd. H., Mayville, WI, formerly of Brownsville, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family and loving husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy with the Rev. Father Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville, and again on Thursday, March 14 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Lomira.
Maggie was born on May 24, 1940, in LeRoy, to Irvin and Margaret (Scheberl) Gassner. She was a graduate of Mayville High School. She was united in marriage to Stanley M. Ries on April 20, 1963 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy. She was also married on November 4, 2006, to Arnold 'Buddy' Oechsner at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Maggie had retired from Knowles Produce and Trading Co. after 40 years as a bookkeeper and secretary.
She was a member at St. Andrew Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Christian Mothers. Maggie's life revolved around music and enjoyed playing the saxophone. She played with the Village Brass and the Don Simpson Band. Dancing was another passions of Maggie, her and her husband Buddy traveled the state dancing on Sunday afternoon's with their dance club, the 'I love to Dance Club'. The also belonged to the Fox Valley Polka Review. Maggie and Buddy also enjoyed their season tickets to the fireside where they saw many shows.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Arnold 'Buddy' Oechsner of LeRoy; her stepsons, Daniel (Sonia) Oechsner of Brownsville; David (Cheryl) Oechsner, Brownsville; and Dennis (Jenifer) Oechsner of Brownsville; her step grandchildren, Nathan (Mickey) Oechsner, Nina Oechsner, Melissa (Luke) Riehbrandt, Tanya Oechsner, Kendra Oechsner, Marlena Oechsner, Alan (Tabbitha) Oechsner, Dedra Oechsner, Ashley Mischker, Gabrielle Mischker, Bobby Mischker, Natalie Oechsner, Ethan Oechsner, Jonathon Riehbrandt, and Grace Riehbrandt; her mother-in-law, Marge Ries; her sister-in-law, Elaine Ottery; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Katharine Harden, Paula Ries, Thomas (Viz) Ries, Michael (Barbara) Ries; nieces and nephews, Michael N. (Jill) Ries, Dr. Daniel (fiancee, Dr. Laurel Hansen) Ries, Jason (Karen) Ries, Christopher (Lily) Gotberg, Nicole Gotberg, Andrea Jones, Douglas (Bianca) Kellor, Michael (Sandra) Kellor, Matthew Kellor, Sean (Jodi) Capen. Further survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley, and brother, Erwin.
