Mary Roche was the daughter of Michael and Margaret Fitzgerald Roche. She was born in Canada, but the family lived in Eden where she married James E. McEvoy Nov. 27, 1873.
Mary Roche McEvoy's death was associated with childbirth. Their infant daughter, Agnes Marie, was raised by her Roche parents, Michael and Margaret FITZGERALD Roche who then moved to South Dakota.
Mary was the oldest of 9 Roche siblings. Her youngest sister, Caroline Roche is buried next to her at St. John, Byron cemetery. Caroline died in 1955, 80 years after Mary.
