Obituary

MYRON WAAS

A Mass of Christian Burial for Myron A. Waas, 55, of 839 South Ave., Lomira, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.

The Rev. Steve Stradinger and the Rev. Robert Berghammer will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kietzer Funeral Home in Lomira, where a parish vigil will be held at 8 p.m.

Mr. Waas died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1993, at his home, following a year-long battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 22, 1938, in LeRoy, a son of Armond and Rosina Ertl Waas. On May 11, 1963, he married Sylvia Tagliapietra at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira.

Mr. Waas was a 1956 graduate of Mayville High School. He was employed for 33 years at Michels Pipeline in Brownsville where he was a foreman. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira and its Holy Name Society, and served as a parish usher. He was a member of Lomira Lions Club and Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347 of Lomira. Mr. Waas served on active duty for 11 months in 1961 in the U.S. National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Dan and his wife Patty of Lomira; one daughter, Dayna at home; his parents of LeRoy; six brothers, Harvey and his wife Mary Jane of LeRoy, David and his wife Marilyn, and Stanley and his wife Pat, all of Knowles, Duane and his wife Jane of LeRoy, and Gary and his wife Chris, and Dean and his wife Jackie, all of Mayville; his mother-in-law, Clara Tagliapietra of Lomira; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceding him in death were his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his father-in-law, John Tagliapietra.
