NEIL T. SOBOTTA
Neil T. Sobotta, 38, of 235 Winnebago St., North Fond du Lac, died after a courageous battle with cancer on March 4, 2005, at the Hospice Home of Hope.
Neil was born on Friday, Jan. 13, 1967, at St. Agnes Hospital to Wayne M. Sobotta and Barbara E. Pitcher Sobotta.
Neil graduated from Oakfield High School in 1985. He then served in the U.S. Marines for four years and spent one year in Okinawa. Upon coming home, he was employed in construction work. He was a member of the Oakfield Conservation Club for many years and was a director for the past 10 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and preserver of nature.
Neil is survived by his mother, Barbara E. (Ron) Gail of Elcho, Wis.; one sister, Valerie (Jeff) Rumbuc of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Marcus (Terry) Sobotta of Oakfield and Glenn Sobotta of Fond du Lac; and nieces and nephews, Joshua (Jenni) Rumbuc, Nicholas and Holli Rumbuc and Jessica, Wayne, Ashley and James Sobotta.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne M. Sobotta; his stepfather, Daniel Conger; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandparents.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Sons of Zebedee Church-Oakfield with the Rev. Michael Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the church.
Neil will be missed by many. He had a great love for the outdoors and wildlife.
