Oscar J. Batzler, 86, of 629 Fifth St., Lomira, died Wednesday, July 31, 1985, at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born Feb. 8, 1899, to Jacob and Victoria Bonlander Batzler at St. Kilian. On Nov. 27, 1923, he married Loretta Kohl at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Theresa.
Mr. Batzler was a retired farmer, trucker and tavern keeper in the Ashford area. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Harry of Route 1, Campbellsport, Hilary of Cudahy and Manuel of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Mrs. George (Mary Ann) Weninger of Lomira; one sister, Anna Batzler of St. Kilian; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira. The Rev. Joseph Safiejko will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira.
