PATRICK VANDER GRINTEN

Patrick Damian Vander Grinten, 24, of W185 Oak Drive, Lomira, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 1989 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, West Bend, as the result of an auto accident.

He was born Oct. 9, 1964, in Milwaukee, the son of Leonard and Barbara Husslein Vander Grinten.  In 1982, he graduated from Lomira High School where he was named to the all-conference football team (offense and defense) his senior year.  He was a 1984 graduate of Moraine Park Technical College at West Bend and was employed as an apprentice journeyman tool and die maker at Strohwig Tool & Die Co. in Richfield.  He was also a “Life” Boy Scout.

Survivors include his parents of Lomira; two brothers, Allan and his wife of Madison, and Robert of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh; one sister, Nancy of Appleton; paternal grandmother, Veronica Vander Grinten of Milwaukee; maternal grandmother, Audrey Husslein of Milwaukee; six uncles, David Vander Grinten of Hartford, Edward Vander Grinten of Milwaukee, Peter Vander Grinten and his wife Mary Jo of Milwaukee, Wayne Husslein and his wife Ginnie of Tampa Bay, Fla., Donald Husslein and his wife Sherri of Pewaukee, and Michael Husslein of Onalaska; one aunt, Anne Liederbach of Menomonie Falls; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Leonard Vander Grinten; and maternal grandfather, Earl Husslein.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira.  Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m.  Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira, with the Rev. Steve Stradinger officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
