Obituary

Peter Halfman 78 died Thursday noon at St. Agnes Hospital where he was a patient for some time. He was a longtime resident of Oakfield. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Halfman, he was born July 21, 1888 at Calumet Harbor. On September 16, 1913 he married Pauline Freund who preceded him in death in 1965.

The couple resided in the Calumet Harbor area until moving to Oakfield in 1935. Mr. Halfman was employed at Mammoth Springs Canning Co., in Oakfield. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church of Oakfield and the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs James Scanlon of Battle Creek, Michigan; Mrs. William Ryan of Plymouth, Wisconsin; Mrs. Donald LaLonde of Battle Creek, Michigan; and Mrs. Joseph Kovach of Lincoln Park, Michigan; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Tina Kirchenmeir of Gliddon; and two brothers, Philip Halfman of Malone and Joe Halfman of Chilton.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Kohls Co. Funeral Home in Oakfield and at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield, Rev. Joseph Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home toay and until time of service Saturday.

Funeral services for Peter Halfman who died Thursday, were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Kohls Company Funeral Home, Oakfield and 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield.

Rev. Joseph Mueller officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Vince Huth, Clifford Gelhar, Ed Graf, Joe Heimerl, Don Ogle and Robert Weinberger.
