Funeral services for Raymond Lawrence Sauer, 65, of 814 N. Water St., Lomira, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira.

The Rev. Steve Stradinger will officiate.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira.

Mr. Sauer died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1989, at home, following a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Lomira, a son of Andrew and Lidvina Schaefer Sauer.  On July 27, 1948, he married Marie Guelig in Theresa.

Mr. Sauer was a graduate of Lomira High School.  He owned and operated Sauer’s Meat Market and Locker Service from 1955 until his retirement in 1985.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946 and was a member and past commander of Lomira American Legion Bintzler-Waehler Post No. 347, and a member of the Legion’s drill squad.  He was a member and past president of Lomira Chamber of Commerce, a past member of the Lomira Fire Department, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and the church’s Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Patrie and her husband Charles of Oshkosh, and Sandra Sauer of Dublin, Calif.; two sons, Richard and his wife Mary and Gerald and his wife Cheryl, both of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren; and one brother, Walter and his wife Loretta of Theresa.  Preceding him in death were his parents, and one brother, Marvin.

Memorials in his name may be directed to Hospice Hope at St. Agnes Hospital.
