Obituary
REV. CLAUDE O’BRIEN
The Rev. Claude T. O’Brien, 80, of Milwaukee, died Tuesday, April 11, 1995.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1914, in Fond du Lac, a son of Charles H. and Loretta Ferguson O’Brien. He attended schools in Fond du Lac and St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee. He was ordained into the priesthood on May 31, 1941, at St. Adalbert Church and celebrated his first Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac on June 1, 1941.
Rev. O’Brien served at Immaculate Conception Church in Milwaukee, St. James and Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Kenosha, as associate at Holy Family in Milwaukee, and at St. George parish in Elkhart Lake, St. Patrick’s Church in Fond du Lac, St. Patrick Church in Milwaukee and St. Catherine Church in Milwaukee as pastor for over 2 years.
He retired to the Cousins Center in Milwaukee in June 1989. He was an active athlete and sports enthusiast all of his life. Rev. O’Brien was active in many organizations and societies.
Survivors include one brother, James of Milwaukee; one sister, Jeanne O’Brien of Port Washington; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Mrs Charles (Eunice) Hillebrand; and one brother, Leonard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at cousins Center, 3501 S. Lake Drive, Milwaukee. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Bryon.
Visitation is at the Cousins Center from 9 a.m. to the time of services on Monday.
Schramka Funeral Home of Milwaukee is handling arrangements.
