REV. WEYER IS DEAD
Relatives and friends received word that Rev. Nicholas Weyer, a former pastor of St. Francis Xavir congregation, died at Mineral Point Tuesday morning.
Rev. Weyer was born June 25, 1865 in Schleslingersville.
He received his early education in Lomira, Ashford and New Castle. He entered Mount Calvary College where he completed his classical course. Later he entered St. Francis Seminary and then St. John’s University of Minnesota, completing his theological and philosophical course
He was ordained on June 26, 1895 at St. Francis Seminary. His first mass was read on the anniversary of his birth at Lomira.
St. Francis Xavier was his first parish. He came here in1895 and remained till 1900, from here went to Mineral Point where he died. His funeral will be held Monday morning, April 9th at Lomira.
