THEISEN, RUTH A.

Miss Ruth A. Theisen, 99, a longtime Green Bay resident and most recently of Whitewater, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Fairhaven Center, Whitewater, where she has resided the past several years.  She was born Aug. 3, 1904, in Lomira, Wis., the daughter of the late George and Mathilde (Kiefer) Theisen.  She attended school in the Juneau, Wis area, graduating from Juneau High School and attended St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wis and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education.  She taught school in Juneau, Wis., for several years and then taught in the Green Bay School District for over 40 years until her retirement.

Ruth was an avid card player and enjoyed playing Bridge with friends.  She also very much loved reading.  She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Green Bay and had been a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Green Bay and had been a member of the Daughters of Isabella there.

She is survived by two nieces, Mary M. Boston, Milton, Wis.; and Rita M. Coates, California; two nephews, Gregory Miller, Fox Point, Wis.; and Thomas E. Condon, Newport News, Va.; and by many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Olivia Miler, Cecelia Dadds; Agatha Condon and Margaretha Fitzel; three brothers, George, Eugene and Felix Theisen; a nephew, James J. Condon; and a niece, Ruth Kresh.

Funeral services with a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton, with Msgr. James Uppena officiating.  Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lomira, Wis.  Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10:340 at the church.
