Obituary

Susan Marie (Beitzel) Schmitt, age 62, a resident of Atrium Post Acute Care Center, Two Rivers passed away unexpectedly from medical complications on Saturday evening, May 13, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care Center.

Susan was born February 7, 1955 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Claude and Alice (Melichar) Beitzel. She was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers. Susan appreciated nature. Her dogs were important companions and she especially enjoyed the birds in her yard. She gifted many with her needle point works. Susan was a loving aunt who especially enjoyed the time spent with family including nieces and nephews. She put a lot of special care and time into taking care of her father.

Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law: Sandra & Robert Holmes, Pueblo, CO; Claudia & Donald Whitty, Byron, WI; one brother: Michael Beitzel, Boulder, CO; six nieces and nephews: Todd (Teresa) Pilger, Rhonda (Nathan Cook) Beitzel, Victoria (Robert) Finocchario, Erin (Kevin) Kalish, Ryan (Anne) Whitty, and Shannon (Joel) Boelhower; as well as other relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Paul Gleichner with burial of her cremated remains to take place at a later time.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

The Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
