Obituary

Veronica Antoinette Sterr (nee Frigo), 82, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

She was born on December 22, 1929, in Pound, the daughter of the late Louis and Guistina Frigo and spent her childhood life helping in the Frigo Cheese Company in Lena.

In 1962, she was united in marriage to Gerald Sterr and Lomira became her home until Gerald's death in 1997. From there she lived in Fond du Lac while spending her winters in Florida.

Veronica was a dynamic and dedicated woman with her family, career and religious beliefs. She graduated from St. Mary Springs High School, attended nursing school at St. Agnes and then graduated with a degree from Marquette University. Her first job was as the Washington County Nurse in the late 1950's.

After spending years working as a registered nurse in the nursing field, she became an instructor at Moraine Park Technical College. Veronica was an early believer in the benefits of holistic health and used her knowledge to share with others as the President of the Natural Food Association of Wisconsin.

Besides her career achievements, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, golfing, gardening and being a volunteer in her community and church.

Those Veronica leaves behind to cherish her memory include two children, Gregory (Lorna) Sterr of West Bend and Stephanie (Scott) Skorik of Cedarburg; five grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Gassner of Brownsville, Christine Sterr of California, Taylor, Zach and Hailey Skorik of Cedarburg; two great-grandchildren, Tenley and Trista Gassner of Brownsville, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her loving husband, Gerald and her parents, Veronica was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Veronica will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 699 Milwaukee Street in Lomira and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer's Disease Research are appreciated.

The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira has been entrusted with Veronica's arrangements.

The Sterr family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of Serenity Villa in Slinger for the compassionate care provided to Veronica.
