G. VINCENT GEELAN
G. Vincent Geelan, 87, of N3738 Highway 175 South, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1916, in the Town of Byron.
On May 17, 1947, he married Margaret K. Kelly at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. Margaret preceded him in death on July 19, 1998.
Vincent was a dairy farmer and a member of Sons of Zebedee Catholic Church in Byron. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 664, a 4-H dairy leader for several years and a church trustee for several years.
Vince enjoyed going to steam engine and antique tractor shows and was a John Deere enthusiast who read numerous books on tractors and steam engines.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Jean (Ned) Dana of Waupun and Nancy Steinke of Fond du Lac; two sons, James (Kathy) Geelan and David (Mary Lynn) Geelan, both of Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren, John Dana, Mathew Steinke, Shawn (Becky) Geelan, Brian Geelan, Stephen Geelan, Sarah Geelan, Michael Geelan, Peter Geelan, and Zachary Geelan; two great-grandchildren; and a lifetime friend, Pat Hicken.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; four grandchildren, twins Vincent Edward and David James Dana, Margaret Beth Geelan and Patrick Geelan; one brother, Harold; one sister, Mary Geelan and an infant sister.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and a funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Sons of Zebedee Catholic Church, Byron. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Byron.
Visitation: From 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
